After Care

For simple remedies that can be done at home that assist with the healing process, please partake in as many of these healthy practices as possible:

Home Remedies

  • Take Pro-biotic supplements. This is the perfect time to plant “friendly flora” back into to the digestive tract. It is also beneficial in minimizing any “healing crisis” which may occur. Most pro-biotic products on the market don’t cut it, read the label. Make sure it is dairy-free, refrigerated and has NSFM, which is crucial in order to withstand the digestion process.
  • Dry skin brushing to help stimulate the lymphatic system. Use a natural bristle brush only. Brush on dry skin, always in the direction towards the heart chakra. This is very helpful to get the skin breathing and should be done for the first several days after the colonic. Great for cellulite too!!
  • Castor Oil Packs. Buy any cold-pressed castor oil and take a piece of flannel. Soak the flannel with a generous amount of castor oil and place over the abdomen. Place a piece of plastic wrap and then a hot water bottle or heating pad over top. This can be done every other day for a week, for 35-45 minutes at a time. This is an Edgar Cayce remedy that has been used for hundreds of years. It is used to stimulate the liver, improve digestion, increase lymphatic circulation and reduce inflammation. It also helps break up fecal material in the large intestines and promotes peristalsis. Try it, it is truly amazing!!
  • Drink lemon water. This helps make the body more alkaline. Squeeze a half of an organic lemon in 8 oz of distilled or purified water.
  • Take Epsom Salts baths nightly.
  • Deep Breathing and Meditation.
  • Try a 1 –3 day juice fast. It is very important to give your digestive system a rest and an all juice fast is the perfect way to recharge your system. Drink vegetable and fruit juice only for a minimum of 1-3 days. This will do wonders for your body, mind and spirit.
  • Bouncing on a mini trampoline. This is helpful in stimulating all organs of the body, stimulating the metabolism and getting the toxins flowing.
  • Yoga and gentle exercise. Walking is wonderful. Get outside and breath in the fresh air. Go for a hike in the woods.
  • Self Massage of the abdomen.
  • Use visualization techniques. Imagine yourself healthy and completely healed.
  • Be gentle with yourself, and remember the body heals itself at its own pace. Don’t rush the process. Love yourself, love your body and stay positive and focused.
  • Take the time to read more about colon health and healthy living. As the saying goes, “Ignorance is Bliss”. Knowledge and awareness is the greatest tool. Take advantage of all the wonderful resources available on the Internet, bookstores, your local health food stores. This would also be a good time to review the Q & A’s portion of our website to refresh your memory and answer the most commonly asked questions.
  • Take the time to rest and relax. Take 10 minutes a day to be silent and let go of everything and everyone.
  • Keep a food journal. Be committed to really looking at your relationship with food. Write down everything you eat for a week. Include when you eat, how much and what emotions are attached to everything that you put in your mouth. This is an eye-opening experience.
