Preparations for Colon Hydrotherapy

For first-time colon hydrotherapy clients, please make sure to review the material in the Suggested Reading section

Please note: Women in their monthly cycle can still benefit greatly from having a colonic treatment. In fact, because the body is already in a natural state of cleansing during that time of the month, the session can prove to be even more beneficial. Many of our clients have noticed a decrease in cramping, bloating, moodiness and fatigue afterwards.

In the 2-3 days prior to your Colon Hydrotherapy session, we suggest that you eat primarily seasonal and organic vegetables, fruits, juices and whole grains. Ideal hydration is drinking half of your weight in ounces of water or other pure liquids like organic teas or fruit/vegetable juice. The only thing that we require of you on day of your appointment is that you limit your fluid intake and DO NOT eat in the 2 hours immediately prior to your appointment. Once you arrive at our office, we will ask you to prepare your self for the session by emptying your bladder, undressing from the waist down and covering yourself with a gown to assure your modesty. Soothing music, essential oils, color therapy glasses, and a heated blanket all help to create an atmosphere of relaxation and safety.

Foods recommended to avoid 2-3 days before your treatment:

  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Brussel sprouts
  • Beans (as in mexican foods, hummus black bean burgers)
  • Cabbage
  • Carbonated Drinks
  • Soy
  • Protein powders
  • Chia seeds
  • Eggs
  • Caffeine
  • Alcohol
  • Fatty foods
  • Dairy
  • Wheat

Eating light, lots of fruits and veggies juicing is a great way to prepare. Hydrating well with lemon water in the morning to help begin to clear out the liver. If adding fats to the diet trying to wait until afternoon to add.
