Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing throughout the entire body. It is administered by “laying on hands” using light touch and hand positions. It is believed that this unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If the energy is high, we are much more capable of being happy and healthy. Through these positions, a Reiki practitioner can correct energetic imbalances in the body, improving overall health and restoring a person’s energy level. Reiki is made up of two words– rei, meaning higher power or universal force and ki, meaning life force. So Reiki is literally “spiritually guided life force energy.” A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you.

Reiki treats the whole person including the body, emotions, mind and spirit–resulting in complete relaxation, feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. People may experience different sensations during the session.Some have reported feelings of warmth, coldness or tingling sensations. Others have experience intense emotional or physical release, while others fall into a deep trance-like sleep. Many people have reported miraculous results after a treatment. During a session the client is lying comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed and completely relaxed.
